Does a bike Friday still fit in a bike Friday suitcase that is 62 in and not oversized for airlines? Does bike Friday sell that suitcase as well?

The suitcase is here. They call it a Travelcase. We have that suitcase and we have Bike Friday, but I am not sure we ever packed into that particular suitcase - we have their earlier suitcase as well and used that. I fly with their current suitcase quite frequently. I see no reason why BF should not fit there. As you largely take it apart there is far more flexibility in packing the bike than when you do not, such as with Brompton.

Thanks for the link.

The bike friday suitcase that bike friday sells comes out to 68 linear inches. 21.7x13.8x31.9 = 68"

I'm *very* surprised that the suitcase listed on a bike friday site isn't 62 inches which is the standard for not getting an oversize charge from the airline given that the bike friday bicycle is touted as something that can easily be flown with.

Has anyone gotten a new world tourist bike in a regulation suitcase of 62 linear inches and if so which model suitcase did you use?

The older suitcase is Carlton 29" (I think) that we also have. This newer Samsonite is easier to travel with. I will measure it myself, but you will not get me to dismantle BF. BF is relatively easy to fit spaces. Its only issue is the labor you need to put in to take it apart and to resurrect it.

My friend flies/has flown with the newer suitcase; the airlines haven't said a word about the size. YMMV. This is Southwest and United btw.

This is that suitcase on Amazon in different sizes. I think we have the 28" one and the one that BF provides is 30".

The case that Bike Friday currently sell is indeed the S'Cure30 and there is an explanation about the size on the Bike Friday website:
Samsonite does not measure the + wheels or handles in their measurements. The case dimensions are 29.5" + tall x 20" wide x 12" deep. This adds up to 61.5 linear inches, which + falls just under the 62 linear inches used by most airlines as their + cut-off limit for suitcase dimensions.
