Ha ha - you know, shellac would surely extend the life of the twine, making this hack completely workable

My concern is mainly centered around the rust on the crank and BB fittings; I can see something snapping off in that region sooner rather than later!

Not quite on topic, but whenever I get on a scale, I wonder why my bikes haven't fallen apart.

I took off the front brake of my cheap department store full suspension by when I was 10 for similar reasons. I also put one of those hard, plastic BMX seats on it as well. I am cringing at the thought of it now.

Saw a wheel tacoed I bet at least 3" warp the guy riding it was just going along. Saw a teen going to school with his front skewer swinging around doing nothing he checked it when told him shrugged his shoulders and rode off.
