Political statements not allowed
I fail to understand how this forum exists when the moderators become enraged when anything "political" is mentioned. It is the politicians that determine what gets funded and which laws are created and which laws are actually enforced.

Bikes: too many bikes from 1967 10s (5x2)Frejus to a Sumitomo Ti/Chorus aluminum 10s (10x2), plus one non-susp mtn bike I use as my commuter

It's a question of being to walk along s cliff without humping off.
If your political comment is on point re: bike advocacy it won't raise any flags.
OTOH if you drift off to more general political philosophy, then, being fair that's no longer about bikes.
In any case, griping is pointless. If you have something political about bikes to say, just say it and let the chips fall where they may.
That's how the Mods earn the big bucks.

I don't think you can lay all the blame on our long suffering moderators. I suspect in the majority of post deletions, thread closures or censures/banishment of posters, it was a thinner skinned colleague that flagged a post they didn't like and that brought the entire thread under scrutiny. As FB notes, a single reference to the political angle of a topic won't arouse much emotion anywhere. If it leads to argument then all bets are off.

You don’t have the freedom to write whatever you want here. Don’t like the rules? Don’t play the game. Problem solved. I don’t understand why some cannot grasp this.
