Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Ate at Taco Bell there a few times back in the day.

The flatlands aren't really my kind of place. HMMV.

As far as I know, she has quit riding bikes, so I think she is looking for a quiet place to live with her husband that's cheaper than LA.

She's organizing and promoting cyclocross racing again. Some of the ladies I know became good friends with her.
Dorothy is on the Altadena Town Council (Altadena is an unincorporated community of LA County). I'm under the impression that Dorothy and Jeff still aren't married, but they've been together for 20+ years. Both were outstanding riders, but in my most recent conversation with Jeff a few months ago, it sounded like neither of them had been riding very much. If I recall, Dorothy won a World Masters Championship a while back - MTB, I think.

Great to hear Dorothy is getting CX going in So Cal again. She's been one of the driving forces of that group for as long as I can remember, and is an awesome force in the cycling community. I have vivid memories of Jeff out-sprinting me for the final podium spot in the last CX race I did - lol.

Question.

I was getting the C2 dressed for possible early ride tomorrow. I picked it up and was rotating it around on the back wheel while holding the handle bars and I noticed the steering felt a little different. It was also creaking when I turned the bars.

Last time I rode it, the conditions were rainy and wet. I cleaned it off but not over aggressively.

I have had issues with the head set play so I know I took it apart about a month ago, cleaned and repacked it with grease. Might have tightened it a touch more than I should have to try and get the play to go away.

Anyways should I be concerned? Should I back some pressure off? Could it be just from the nasty conditions the last time I rode?
