Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Things just got worse. I got a text from my sis in the Chicago area. She was taken to the ER last night via ambulance. She had a seizure in her sleep but is home now. On medication to control seizure, don't know what is next. No driving for 6 months and other precautions. My 83 year old mother is the only one in the family who isn't having issues. I hope she stays strong.

Should I go for a ride? Or do whatever it is that rjones28 does?
I did not record today's activities on Strava.

not that I'm aware. 50 yo next May. Generally healthy and, like me, pleasant. She's tough as nails mentally and can handle the challenge.

I just set up a "trainer wheel", using an old wheel that had started to develop cracks around the spoke holes so it was never going to see actual road again, an old cassette I wasn't using, and an old, but still serviceable tire I'd never use for anything. New tube, though!

Yeah, any time with a French 18 is too long. Given that, in my case and after hands on prostatectomy, the urethra has to be reconnected after removing the prostate. Two weeks with a catheter was standard in 2003 when mine was done.

FWIW, time off of a regular bike for me was three months due to a very large amount of margin being removed.

Pleasant and tough is good. Let us know what the workup shows, if you feel like it. Did quite a few of those in my yute.

I think I'll spring for a SUB when I get that procedure, seems like it would be doable after a couple weeks.

There is a guy who rides an Eliptigo with club #2 sometimes. His is bigger and has bigger wheels, I think. We went on a steep climb and he dropped me on that thing. I asked him how much it weighed and he said over 40 pounds.

Electric? Friend has the electric one and it has the same battery issue as the Chevy Bolt. They offered to buy it back but he likes the car so he took a cash spiff instead. They were supposed to program it so it couldn't be charged more than 90% but his will still go to 100%.

100,000 warranty, right?

Hyundai has come a long way.

Not familiar with the car though.

If she is buying versus leasing, she should get the gas version. Too much unknown to buy an EV of any type according to my research.

My research also indicated that you should not charge EVs to 100% on a regular basis. I programmed mine to only charge to 85%. Even at that, only have to charge it once or twice a month.

I've recommended Hyundai's to many folks. The only real issue I've experienced are some having fuel sender issues, but I've not heard of any in regards to the Kona. They used to be a bargain, but news is out, and they're on par with the rest of them.
