(I must admit, I'm amazed by the lack of photos in this thread.)

I just wrote an appeal note, advised i admittedly got a bit carried away on P&R and was not even aware of what a "sock" was at the time. Didnt know that having 2 accounts was frowned upon , and if one is D_MC707 (or whatever) its not like i was trying to hide. I much better understand forum decorum now.
Since that incident i have been looking at threads here and users that many suspect are trolls and i must admit, i can now see why its frowned upon (although some are entertaining ). I've posted on The Paceline a bit in my absence from here, but i truly enjoy the C&V community here

I used to have a stable. I kept two horses in it. The first was a half-Arab gelding who was good-looker, but spooky and prone to shying at things like butterflies. The other was a running Quarter Horse who was in the AQHA Register of Merit for her high speed index (that is a real thing). She was a solid and even tempered mare, and damn fast. Riding a bicycle at 40mph is a thrill, riding a horse at that speed is incredible.

Currently my daily rider, thrown together last month:

Other ridable or "ridable" bikes is my Nishiki Olypic SS that just has a flat, and my Schwinn High Sierra that I just got back sorted enough to ride as a last resort- I need to replace the fd I put on it from the Olympic, because it doesn't have enough pull, the back wheel has gotten more out of true and skips on 6th.

Road bikes:
Schwinn Prelude: needs tube, bar tape(just got), and I want brake levers with return springs in them, though I could just wrap the bars, replace the tube and it'll ride. Also I need to put the longer brake cable housing on the front.

BMX:
DK that needs chain and chainring, sadle&post, could use wheelset, but with tubes, the wheels on it will be fine.

Frames:
Fuji Tru Temper
Gary Fisher Katai
Nishiki Prestige
Diamondback Drifter¹
Schwinn Probe(I wanna sell)

Others:
Huffy Koza; I'm going to sell to a friend
Next LaJolla; needs crank and new rear sprocket.
Roasmaster Granite Peak; on hiatus from being converted to a cargo trike.

Riese and Müller SuperCharger2 Rohloff HS with Fox Factory 140mm Fork and Koga Denham Bars
Specialized Como 4.5 with 10 speed XT and Magura MT5 e-brakes

Foundry Chillkoot with 11 speed Ultegra DI2 and eeBrakes
Phil Wood Apple VeloXS with 6 speed Dura Ace 7400 and various PW bits
Co-Motion Cascadia with 9 speed XT/UltegraCX mix and TRP Spyres and a Paul Comp rear hub and SON dynamo front hub and B+M lights and a SInewave Charger

Specialized Langster with Sugino 75DD and EAI Gold Medal Cog and eeBrakes
Cinelli Mash Work with White Industries freewheel, front rando rack and TRP Revox brakes and SP Dyno hub and Supernova Lights

Salsa Timberjack TI with 11 Speed XT and a Rockshox SID XX fork and Thomson Dropper
Habenero TI with vintage XT and LX set up for 9 speed with Marzocchi Bomber fork and Nukeproof Ti hubs and Paul 3DV brakes/levers and seatpost

New Albion Privateer parts hybrid with vintage XT and XTR as 1x9 speed and Surly Moloko bars and Carbon fork.

Also some projects I am working on but really I need to pair down some bikes and upgrade others. I really want to build a titanium fixed gear road bike with a little extra tire clearance or possibly a Ti gravel bike with disc brakes and get rid of the Langster or Mash Work or both and then I would love to build a more gravel oriented touring bike with even more tire clearance and maybe thru-axles and a alt bar set up which could combine the Privateer and the Co-Motion. I still like the idea of N+1 but I have bikes I am just not using as much because they just aren't quite right or are cool but don't need multiples on that front.

1980 Mercian

2007 Rivendell A.Homer Hilsen

2016 Clockwork Allrounder

2019 Gunnar Sport

Coming soon 2022 New Albion Privateer

After many years of additions and subtraction, I think the stable is pretty stable for awhile.

Four bikes. a 1987 Diamondback Ascent, $7.50 at a thrift shop. I ride it when the roads are muddy. 2013 Specialized Tarmac Elite. Road bike. Gets the most miles by far. 1989 Specialized Rock Combo. Gravel bike when the roads and two tracks are dry. 1995 Specialized Rockhopper because I couldn't pass it up for $50.

Trying the N-1 philosophy lately (one Niner donated to my son and one track bike to hang on the wall of the bike shop)

Niner RLT with two sets of wheels (one gravel, one road)
Indy Fab SS 29er
Indy Fab Crown Jewel - now living in the basement as the trainer bike
2023 Trek Domane - when the warrantied frame arrives.
