Guy in a Team Sky skinsuit drafted me for the last 5 minutes of my ftp interval this morning. That's what I get for doing intervals on the local MUP.

Planned out long ride tomorrow, now there is predicted thunder and lightning. How concerned should I be? May just hit the gym instead to flex on bros

The plan was to put another big week in to get in another solid month, but I think the last few weeks caught up to me after Tuesdays race and I haven't really felt like riding. TSB hasn't been positive in like 4 or 5 weeks (the highest its been is maybe -10 or -15), so that might have something to do with it.

Back into my comfort zone today: 68 miles, 2800+ feet of climbing, all in the 53-21. Objective was to take it somewhat easy. Yesterday, I had time for only 15 miles. I am feeling the effects of the Wednesday ride with shovel. It didn't break me, but, it did soften the legs a bit. In the end, I sense that it will have toughened me up more.

Moving all week this week ... so getting a couple spins in and attacking any hill/roller in sight is about all I have for the moment. Will have to flake out on a RR tomorrow since movers will be in both places all day and it wouldn't be fair to make the wife supervise both sets. Feeling guilty about it since two other guys are having to pull out of the race leaving a fourth guy to race solo. He's strong enough to drop all of us on the climb, but he'd need a bit of help on the flats into the finish.

I borrowed a TT bike from a friend to see if I like it. I'm doing a half ironman triathlon relay in October so it would be useful for that. Also might try some stage races next year.
It's been a while since I've been on a TT bike so I just went out on it for 30 mins today. It felt heavy but now I remember how nice it is once you get going, solo. I think I need to make a few fit adjustments but the bike seems to fit me well.
In reality, I would probably be better at TT's than crits or road races, if only I had the self discipline to train alone!

I was afraid you'd suggest something like that!!!
On my ride today, I was debating whether to do the Wednesday ride again. I could end the summer satisfied knowing that I was able to stick for the most part, or, I could do it again, bring my 25, and see if I could stick on the climb too. But, the only concerning issue is whether the general speed will be greater next week. I really liked the pace when it was "slow" at 24-26 every now and then. I don't want to be dropped and ITT. Nevertheless, it is a great ride and it felt good to push myself, be pushed and encouraged, and to go fast.

I'd always drop back for you. Let's see who shows up. If it's just me and Mike we can put you in the cradle. You won't get dropped and you'll get a great drafting practice and workout.
