Possible bottom bracket issue

Hi I have a problem that my front derailleur will not meet my 3rd crankset. I have a bottom bracket which is a vp-bc73 bc1.37”x24T. 68x118. and a chai set that is a shimano alivio fc-m410. Could I be right in thinking my bottom bracket is too long. Many thanks

Yes. It looks like the FC-M410 takes a 113mm spindle to achieve a chainline of 50mm:

Have you tried introducing them, helping them both break the ice. If it is your third crankset maybe your front derailleur is tired of you brining home other cranksets and thinks you should have stayed with the first one. Cheryl wasn't perfect but she had a good ratio and could hold a chain better than Denise the second one and while Denise may have made more money and had a nicer face, Cheryl was way more stable and intellectually stimulating.

Sorry I am making a terrible joke and will now stop....Just had too do it, glad you get the problem resolved.

For those in the future reading this, check manufacturer specs for everything and make sure you are within them for optimal compatibility!
