Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Noted. I have less confidence in the Dodgers this season than I have had in quite a while. However, SD was supposed to be the dominant team in the NLW this season. Someone is going to lose their job.

Watched the whole retirement announcement. Very emotional. I might have got something in my eye at one point.

Still no diagnosis, sports doc last night said "could be ACL, MCL, meniscus, or a combination of the three. Hopefully MRI within the next two days.

Now kitty is at the vet.

I'm basically vibrating.

Daughter #1, the musical prodigy, has been teaching at an elementary school about 40 minutes away the past year.

She learned that our HOME school district has an opening for an elementary school music teacher, which we figured would be perfect. All the music teachers there know her and love her. She was their "Super Star."

She interviewed and had a second interview. She said there were ZERO music teachers involved in the interview/hiring process, and the main interviewer was the school's principal who is relatively new and knows not Hannah.

Sadly, she did NOT get the job.

I awoke with a wildly irregular heartbeat this morning, along with an abundance of excessive gas. Tried to wait it out. Took tbe dogs for their walk, all the while thinking 'I've just had two recent surgeries with the required tests'. Made and ate breakfast. Relaxed on the couch. When I got up to pee I nearly passed out, and generally felt like shizz, so called emergency. By the time they found the place all was back to normal. Told me to take it easy and contact my family doc. I just got up again, to pee, and was/am light-headed, and feel generally unwell. Will take it easy today.

Irregular heart beat needs to be checked, Seeds. Don't delay too much.

I cut the weeds here and this year there has been so much rain they keep coming back. The landlord says he got a notice from the fire dep't. that the property is in violation and he will be fined if it fails the second inspection.

So I cut the back lot again yesterday and, of course, it drizzled all night last night.

My daughter has a number of female friends/peers who obtained teaching degrees and ended up teaching. All except for one (who is a volleyball coach) hated the restraints and demands placed on teachers in today's school environment and quit within three years.

There is typically a mass exodus from teaching after a few years for various reasons. Since Hannah is a music teacher my hope is she is mostly shielded from all of the NCLB crap and other demands etc. but who knows? She may get an advanced degree and teach at the university level down the road, that is what her adviser suggested. It's her journey, I am cheering from the sidelines wherever she goes.
