Only Murders In The Building. Really fun. Rewatched it again with the kids (teens). The best part is Martin Short & Steve Martin working together. Selena Gomez was an odd choice, but I've been a fan of Amy Ryan since S2 of The Wire

Lupin S1&S2. The star does a great job, S2 is I think not as good as S1 as it bends more in an Action direction than S1 which is more Caper/Heist.
I was inspired to download some of the old Lupin books (available in english translation from gutenberg.org), and read some of the original stories. They are of course quite different, but still very clever and enjoyable.

I am sure that Squid Game got mentioned in here somewhere. You hear all these glammy reviews and then can't even make it through the first episode. /frown
I have a thing about any movie or show that is dubbed. Drives me nuts. Mostly because I am half deaf and can't read lips alongside watching. Captioning gets on my nerves as well, so...

Started What We Do In the Shadows. Silly but fun. The energy vampire cracks me up every time.

I enjoyed Inventing Anna, but it did take me a moment not to see her as "Ruth".
The Reacher thing was watchable, but corny predictable as well.
The Ozarks is just wrong for this 'half season' pause. /grumble

Severance (Apple TV) - 9/10. It's like Philip K. Dick, David Lynch, and Margaret Atwood had a child.

The fourth season of Formula 1 recently released on Netflix. In spite of watching being akin to seeing Titanic (you know how it's going to end), it has been a nice journey getting there.
Even much more than in previous seasons, I feel like there was a little bit of playing up for the drama aspect this season. These shows cut, edit, take out of context so much content that most of the time the situation being presented has nothing at all to do with the actual events. Just the same I really like the in car aspects of the qualifying and race segments of the show.
Did anyone watch that Secrets of Playboy thing that was on A&E?
I found it semi interesting if not fully contrived. I can't imagine he was a saint or anything...but, to the point, this could readily have been a two part-two hour instead of all the taffy pulling they did. I lost interest a pretty fair way through but may put it on in the background just to see where it ends up.

The Take (2009) British crime thriller, 4 part series streaming on IMDb. 9/10 and is worth putting up with the ads on IMDb. Tom Hardy excels as a violent thug/gangster with excellent supporting actors. Do not watch if portrayals of gangster and domestic violence are upsetting.

WOW
Just finished season 1 of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. WHAT a gem of a show. Hilarious, witty, and likable characters. Probably most refreshing show I've seen in some time.

Slow Horses. Watched the first 3 episodes last night on a 7 day free trial of on the Apple TV+streaming network. 9/10. Very good. Will finish the first season on Friday.
Highly recommend reading the Slough House series of books by Mick Herron that this show is based on. I am currently listening to Spook Street, the fifth in the series and the books get better with each new addition to the series.

Watched first 4 episodes of Bosch Legacy on FreeVee, an Amazon Prime Video off shoot, (free but with limited ads). Maddy is all grown up and is an LA police officer rookie, while dad is a PI. As good as the other 8 seasons which are still on Prime Video. 8/10.

I binge-watched the first ~7 episodes of Season 1 of Ozark over the weekend and eventually concluded that this was yet another one of those When Bad Things Happen To (Not-So-)Good People scenarios that I find wholly ungratifying, so I don't think I'll be watching any more. I do enjoy Jason Bateman, but there just wasn't a whole lot else of compelling interest, either story- or performance-wise.
Meanwhile, the missus and I watched Season 1 of Grace & Frankie, and we'll probably keep watching that. It's cute.

I was turned onto the internet archive by a poster in one of these 'what are you watching' threads. I found the Shogun (1980) miniseries based off the James Clavell novel. I remembered it very fondly and am about halfway through now and enjoying it very much.

Watched episodes 1 thru 4 of the first season (1972) of the original Bob Newhart Show with Suzanne Pleshette as his wife. One of the best comedy series, ever. Streaming on Hulu. Intend to watch the rest this month
