I've been to the ACD Museum before, but not for at least 20 years. It's only a two hour trip, so we are planning to attend.

I don't know for sure, but Mike Kone (Boulder Bike) is active on Classic Rendezvous and his business sells plenty of bike parts from that era. I suspect the 60's thru 80s will be well represented.

We are in a transition period where browsers and various extensions are getting more insistent that we use secure communication protocols. Not all websites have caught up yet.

Only if your browser is willing to fall back to http (unsecured) protocol. In my case, I had to explicitly visit the https://... variant:

Actually the secure criteria is just what my browser is doing. The link I posted was copied from Mike's post on CR. It worked. I just did it again and now see it is an unsecured link. If I try to use the link in my original post now, it also does not work.

Great to see a post about the event. I posted some info under the "Regional Rides and Events" section, but I know that corner of the forum is trafficked as regularly as here. I'm the volunteer social media person for the show and so hope to be spreading the word on forums, Instagram, Facebook, etc. in the coming weeks and months. I'm happy to answer questions and try to find answers for anyone.
The show will be very much focused on "vintage lightweight bicycles" and not balloon tire cruisers, etc. However, it's possible that the swap meet might be a bit different. I'm not sure what kind of screening happens, if at all when someone buys a spot at the swap meet. I'll have to ask.

Not attending but if I ever go to Indiana again (passed through once in 1977, in the middle of the night, not much to see) the ACD and Studebaker museums a must, and bikes would be a nice bonus!

why would it skew to midcentury racing bicycles and not the giant pre-Depression luxury bicycles that became symbols of wealthy depravity?

I need to see if we can get an SSL certificate for the site. I'm a little rusty on such things, but I'll see.

Not knowing the mind of Mike but having been to several similar events, I have not known any restrictions placed on swap sellers. That said, since it is a vintage lightweight event, trying to sell a crabon mountain bike seems like not knowing your audience and a potential waste of your table fees.

Unfortunately I don't think any of my fabulous bikes fit the criteria for the show.

note from Classic Bicycles Auburn lead organizer
Mike here - lead organizer of Classic Bicycles Auburn,
The goal is to keep the show fun, not be overly rigid, and make folks happy.
While the show's focus is vintage lightweights, there will certainly be an area set up for antique bikes, especially for performance oriented examples. Soon, as folks continue to sign-up, we'll query them and see what they're bringing. It's expected that there will be a few different display areas, and at least for the unjudged categories there will some space allocated for all types of machines.
That said, as the show fills up, things will get more selective. Also note that early pre-suspension mountain bikes (think fillet brazed Ritchey) are welcome. Lot's of artistry in those early machines, often made by top-level builders who transitioned from road bikes.
For the swap, anything bicycle related is fine. As swap spaces start selling out that could change and it will be clear on the registration page (but that may never be an issue at all as there is lots of swap space) . Already we have a number of committed vintage lightweight oriented vendors, so the offerings will be great.
Also note that the organizing committee is very welcoming to suggestions and ways to make everyone feel included. Think of Classic Bicycles Auburn as a warm get-together where making new connections is more important than the bikes.

Welcome and thanks for posting, mikekone . It's been over 20 years since I've been there, but I have to say, that is one fine museum you have there in Auburn. I have to seriously mull over the option of registering for a swap table to sell off some stuff, just so I can also pack in a tour of the museum.

The museum really is amazing - and the art deco building itself is almost worth the price of admission. It's the former headquarters of Auburn Cord Duesenberg and is where dealers were brought to peruse the various automotive offerings.
Also, I've noticed as I've visited the museum over the years they really do a great job of changing exhibits so it's always a bit different.
Hopefully you can attend!
