An old question but...
Any comments on Ksyrium SL's if they are almost unused and going for a song?

I've got Ksyriums & find them to be good. I think Hitchy has them too...

Don't think Tiger-boy is a fan. Perhaps they lack "hand-built" cred

It does indeed. I'm a lucky, lucky man.
They were at a house a couple hundred metres from where I'd left them. They'd picked them up and then on the weekend their son found one of the signs I'd put up. They didn't ring me til last night, but no complaints, at least they rang me! I'm glad I hadn't bought replacements on Monday or Tuesday!
So I bought him a 1GB ipod shuffle as a thankyou and picked 'em up this morning.
Dropped off some beers to the stores that had gone to the trouble of quoting a 3 page list of tools I didn't end up needing to buy and all's well all round.
I feel all warm and cuddly about the world.

BMI is a statistical generalisation, thoroughly thought out true enuf, but it's a generalisation all the same. At the end of the day it's a handy ready reckoner for quacks to use when consulting with patients who are carrying too much non-muscular weight. They clearly wouldn't use the BMI index as a guide for a 5'2 bodybuilder who weighs in at 100kg+

And nor should you. In fact forget the bloody BMI and look in the mirror. When you start to look chiselled your body fat ratio will be approaching the 'good' range. When you start to look gaunt in the face you might be overdoing it.

Speaking of knitting...

I always check out the car driving fauna on my rides. Today I sidled up to a nice MX5 convertable and whoa there was a spectacular pair of legs in a sprayed on set of black pants with gold pinstriping that followed her curves perfectly and squeezed my drool gland hard. And as if that wasn't enough she was knitting a scarf with her left hand!!!

you've gotta love human nature sometimes.

Is this some kind of code for something awesome that I simply don't understand?
Or if not, how do you knit with one hand?

How much are Zipp 404's in the shops here?

Prebuilt wheels are all fine and dandy if you couldn't be stuffed, well, getting a pair of wheels built, but otherwise they're expensive for what they are, aren't necessarily light or aero, so you're paying for convenience basically.

Plus, I hate being like eveyone else.

Check out these hubs for sex on a (quick release) skewer....

www.soul-kozak.com

You can build these into a wheelset for the same price as Ksyriums but THREE HUNDRED GRAMS LIGHTER.

So whatchagunnado?

404's $2.5K give or take a few bob. 300Gms lighter than ksyriums???.....so that would be 1250g odd....for clinchers that will hold a 90kg er???. Unheard of...tell me more......(I can't open that link)

nostrildamus predicts a medium sized group will take time from the main bunch, expect to see cadel, kloden, hincapie, popo, landis etc all up there....
Landis to lose time when the action heats up.
Kloden to be strong but wilt in the last ITT.

your thoughts?
