Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

does the Garmin edge 500 use same cadence sensor as 305?

My 305 is crapping out on me so I'm looking at the 500. It looks like it uses the same speed/cadence sensor as the 305 which would save me $100 on the bundle. Can anyone confirm this for me before I spend the cash? Thanks.

I'm curious too as I have a spare 305 cadence/speed sensor still in packaging, and no 305. It would be good to find out before I open the package. Either that, or does anyone want to buy it?

how much do you want for it? and I believe that the 500 uses the same sensor (at least that is what I was told by the bike shop when I asked).

305 and 500 use the GSC10, which has a SRP of $60 and can be found around for less than $40.

Well, in that case, I'll hang on to the spare that I have. Thanks!
