Time for the Cake Eater Studded tires.

Now this was a great way to end a four-day holiday weekend. Put the Terrene Cake Eater Studded Tires on the bike the day before, because of all the freezing rain we've had. Went out to a trail network that I visited for the first time a little over a month ago. Did plenty of climbing and just had such a fun time, and looking forward to having a great winter trail riding season.

They are made by Terrene so if interested look can search under Terrene Studded Tires.

To my eye, the route from the video could have been done on any tires. Am I missing something? The particular tires could be good for this or that but not particular there. Right?

There was a coat of ice on most of the trail network, and I wouldn't have made it up most climbs without the studded tires.

I have a pair on Nokian "Extreme 294" tires, which I put on my 26" mountain bike. Studded tires make winter trail riding a much more predictable activity. If you can find a frozen lake with no snow on it, riding is a blast!

I found a pedestrian in the middle of a local lake who snapped this picture for me. I was clipping along at speeds up to 20 MPH with traction that felt like dry asphalt!

The ice fishers always get a kick out of seeing me riding across the lake. Winter is running late and I'm really ready for some big snowstorms.

The nearest ice fisher's hut is my first stop whenever I go out on a frozen lake. The fishers always know how thick the ice is... since they had to cut a hole in it!
I'm changing over to the studs now!
