Small Rock Lobster Mountain Bike
$700 PayPal F&F plus shipping. 42cm c to c. 45.5 cm center to top of seat tube. In MTB terms I think this is an 18" frame. This is a sloping top tube frame so theoretical seat tube is about 19" center to center.
My friend Paul Sadoff at Rock Lobster Cycles built this frame for my daughter in about 1991-92. It was his first TIG welded frame. I believe the serial number is T1 but it is obscured by the powdercoat. Hard to catch with the camera but I have included it in the last photo below. At that time we had a pipeline to components that were excess to the needs of Specialized Bikes, either because they changed models or because of cosmetic defects. Being on a tight budget I made good use of those inexpensive "Team Defect" parts. So the components on this bike are quite eclectic:
Crankset and front hub - Shimano Deore MT-60. Front derailleur and rear hub - Suntour XCD. Rear Derailleur - Suntour XCM. Shimano cantilever brakes, front M454, rear - M550. Brake Levers - Dia Compe XCT. Bars and front rim - Specialized. Rear rim - Mavic M261 Profil PSP. Pedals are SR sp-150. One pedal is missing its dust cap. The SST-K saddle came from a sponsorship deal some of us had with WTB at the time.
Condition. The bike is in very nice condition, a few small chips in the paint but pretty minor. The foam grips are showing a lot of cracks. The rear shifter has an indexing capability but, due to some compatibility problem we have always used friction mode. The bike has been sitting for a long time. I would recommend that the new owner check the grease in all the bearings. Bike had 26x2.125 knobbies on it for most of its life, now has Michelin 26x1.75 Country Rocks. I realize that the splatter paint job may not be to everyone's liking. If you decide to repaint the bike I can supply you with a set of genuine Rock Lobster decals.

Very cool bike! I like the splatter (but not the size unfortunately). I will remind everyone of the vintage MTB theme at Cino this year!
