Helmets NOT made in China
Any chance I can buy a helmet that is NOT made in China? Just about any brand that I thought made in USA (Bell/Protec) are all made in China nowadays . Thanks.

I prefer to buy domestically-made goods whenever possible, even if I have to pay much more.
.I have no ill will against China or the Chinese, they are free to trade as they like, in their own best interests. But supporting my own economy is in my best interests, so I look at the labels of everything I buy.

In the above linky Taiwan makes house brand helmets for Performance if one cares to look further into it.
I too, would prefer to purchase from countries that are constitutional republics that are not corrupt.
Tall order.

Would love to have more manufacturing come home, but the lure of cheap\slave labor is too much for many companies to bypass, not to mention that gaining access to the Chinese market means they have to build in China. Makes it easier to copy that way.

I would love to support American manufacturing, American businesses and American workers, but honestly right now, I would be happy just to find products not made by an enemy state.

I don't actually know or care where my Lazer Z1 was made but it is one of the most comfortable and lightweight helmets I have worn. I will probably end up on another one this year (or maybe the new G1 as it is supposed to be lighter?) I did enjoy my ABUS GameChanger but I just didn't need it but may consider a Viantor at some point as well but I have been so happy with my Lazer I really don't want to switch.
I like to buy from companies I can trust to make good products and while yes I would love for them to be made in better conditions and such I also recognize that we are in a world and system that doesn't really care about that and will not care about that and I want products that last a long time and work well and so far my Z1 has been the best helmet I have ever used so I will continue with them.

I am guessing the Giros are made in China, but they are my favorites, especially the Helios Spherical. I have a friend who was trying to build one here, along with some interesting safety tech that was apparently superior to MIPs but sadly, he did not get enough funding. They were a bit expensive but no more than the higher-end Giros, for example (which are $200+). As far as the big brands go, I think they are all made in China. You may have to research some smaller brands that the stores normally don't carry.

Casco are a German company producing helmets in Romania. Dunno that buying one will have any geopolitical impact, but it might save you from devastating brain injury.
