BB issues

Hi all,
I need your advice as to the length of spindle for a 1972 Concorde ‘Italia’ racing bike.
The threading is British and the shell is 70 mm wide.
I’m planning on using the Nuovo Record BB and cranks if that helps.
Any help would be great.
Thanks.

It’s odd that your BB shell is British threaded and 70mm, British BB shells are usually 68mm.

Anyway, you’ll need a 113mm spindle if you’re using two ring Nuovo Record cranks.

Concorde was a Japanese built brand, and more than a few bike-boom era Japanese frames came with English threaded, 70mm wide shells. (that's why you shouldn't rely on shell width to determine thread spec).

In any case, a hybrid bottom bracket using English thread Nuovo Record cups and a Nuovo Record spindle for a 70mm shell should work. Exactly which spindle depends on whether the crank is pre- or post-CPSC changes. Campagnolo bottom brackets got confusing in that era:

THANKS!!!

I'm going to go through the pdf to see if my old Nouvo Record will work but at a cursory glance, it should work.
Thanks for your input, and I'll let my guys know that I did not mis-measure. LOL

This time I did not use my digital calipers.
By using my ruler, and confirmed that the bb shell is 66mm wide.
