Since this is "BOTH" the category for "Recreational" and Family I'd like to start a "Rides" photo page for those of us who are Recreational Riders that the "family" is all Grown Up and gone or those without Family, thanks! We are 65, retired our "kids" have kids and a some have grandkids! These are our 2007 Electra Townie 21d's that my wife, Jo and I ride on the rail and urban trails of Colorado Springs, CO. Etc.

LOL, well I've changed machines, sold the Electra Townie 21d, to a very nice woman in Denver and pick up a 2007 RANS Fusion (Crank Forward) bike, "not the recumbent" just their version of a bicycle!! Got in a good test ride the other day after adding all my accessories off of the Townie on to the Fusion.

We decided to ride on Friday due to the weather report saying that there would be HIGH WINDS on Saturday, we headed north on the Pikes Peak Greenway then west on the Sinton Trail. Then turned south on the Foothills Trail that goes infront of the entry way to the Garden of the Gods Park, here in Co. Springs. At the end of the trail we picked up the 31st. St. bike lane over to Colorado Ave. bike lane to stop at a little Hot Dog cafe for a good dog!! We ate on their elevated patio area, then headed east on the Midland Trail, got on the different bike lanes thru town and then north on the Shooks Run Trail and headed home. 15 miles RT, Sunny but chilly high 30 F's.

bjjoondo...........Ive been on the same trail, eaten at the same dog place, its a small world. I used to live in Manitou nut am now over in the central part of springs. Is that a specialized roll? I had one a few years back, nice commuter bikes they are. Sorry, I see its not a roll after scrolling down.

Got in a chilly ride on Thursday 11th. of Feb. Sadly the last ride before a serious Artic Cold Front for the next several days! I headed over the Sinton trail to the Foothills trail that goes along the outside of the Garden of the Gods Park here in Co. Springs, it was suppose to get up to 42 F but never got above 31 F and on the downhill parts of the trails I could feel the COLD on my forehead even wearing a skull cap and helmet!! I took a break at the Overlook off of 31st. Street before heading back to the Foothills trail over to the 31st. St. bike lane.

The view from the Overlook off of 31st. Street.

View of Pikes Peak off the Foothills Trail

Rode over to Pikes Peak Ave. and stopped an a Wendy's for a small bowl hot chili, warmed up a bit, picked up the Midland Trail heading east back into Downtown Co. Springs, then took the Pine St. trail to the Pikes Peak Greenway and over the Popcycle Bridge back to our Apartment. 20 miles RT! Glad I did the ride, even with the chilly temps!
