Folding tandem bike

Saw this today on sale. I didn’t know such a thing existed. Note the double kickstands.

That tandem bike actually looks more attractive than it might otherwise be with the rack on. Good find

The rear rack looks like it’s part of the frame. No option to remove it. The seller mentions the bike is really heavy. I see a hinge on the front down tube but not another one.

A web search showed they made a three person tandem model. A family bike I guess.

I was gonna say one would need a barn to store that bike, but then I remembered it folds, so I guess a double garage would do just fine.

Are you thinking of buying it?

No I’m not buying it. I just bought a used Bike Friday New World Tourist. To make room I’m also going to sell two mini velos I have.

Oh, come on, man. I'd say that rig, with its two-meter odd wheelbase, is right up your alley. Quite stable, I'd wager.

No, its too small. With its low seat and bars, it looks more like a rig for you.

Well, in fairness to both of you, it is a bicycle built for two. Can't see any reason you can't both pedal that bus together.

There are numerous models and options for demountable (take apart) tandems. There are a few true folding tandems around, like the Koga Twin Traveller.

The Graziella Tandem is a classic and a collectors item. Unfortunately practical use is somewhat limited probably and it needs a lot of space. The one pictured needs some serious tinkering to make it shiny again but it is in no way hopeless. If the owner finds the right person someone might be very happy.
