Road/Cyclocross Rims that Don't Require Tape
I've tried Googling like crazy and going to a lot of websites, but it's really hard to tell if a rim is "true tubeless" with no need for tape (and spoke nipples that need to be brought through the valve hole) because the spoke holes don't go all the way through. It drives me crazy, but they just show the rim from the inside, so there's no way of telling easily if the spoke holes go all the way through the rim bed. It seems like even UST rims often require tape. Is there some special name for rims that don't require tape ? I see a lot available for mountain bikes, not a lot for less fat tires...
For a 28-35 mm tire, does anyone have a suggestion/recommendations of what rims are available to build my own wheels ?
Thanks !

Mavic Fore technology, the rim bed has one hole in it for the valve…. No tape required.
I had to order my Cosmic 45 SLR from Italy, but very glad I did.
Western Bike Works is beginning to carry Mavic wheelsets again.

My Giant P-TRX 1 wheels don't need rim tape for tubeless. I haven't needed to replace a spoke on these wheels to know what's involved.
Personally, I'd just deal with the tape to give you more options.

I ordered my lightbicycle wheels with no holes so I don't have to use tape. Not looking forward to having to replace the spokes some day though. Since the nipples are brass you can't even use a magnet to get the nipples where you want.
