Funny. That photo was of a points race. I forget the exact format, but you would sprint, accrue points, and maybe rest a lap. Pete attacked after one of the sprints. Rode solo to be the first rider across the line, but ended up costing us the race, which we had been winning. He never stopped talking about how he won that race, and never understood the dynamics of us losing.

Even looking just at a picture of it does something to me.
At first, I was concerned how he might feel about his bike for eternity having a dork disc. But maybe it doesn't bug him as much as I feared.

I have been thinking about this ever since it happened. This is really gnawing at me. He was such a colorful contributor here. This makes my heart heavy.

Sad loss. I would come to these forums just to read this guys posts. He made me laugh so many times. Loved how he would quote and answer his own posts, hysterical.

Hi,
I haven't posted on BikeForums in a long time and it's been even longer since I posted to this sub forum. I've had and still have an immediate family tragedy I'm working through but for some reason I decided to look here to see what had been shared about Peter.
I never met him in-person, but I felt like I knew him as a fellow native New Yorker. We had similar sensibilities but almost polar opposite ways of expressing ourselves. Regardless, his posts here and on Facebook amused and sometimes informed me.
I do some bicycle advocacy work in Southern California and collisions like this sadden and anger me. My hope is that some good comes out of this tragedy when more facts become known. The ghost bike is a small first step in potentially bring about some change.
Don't know if his wife and daughter will see this thread. If they do, I hope it brings them a small amount of comfort.
RIP Peter (Pcad).

Wow. I haven't been on this forum in at least a decade. I've been riding a lot more with my 16 year old son lately and thought I'd pop on to see if this place was still active. And I see this news - I occasionally sparred / communicated with Pcad years ago and was always amused by his posts. Rest in peace.

I am saddened to have just learned of this.

Not visiting much here anymore, but man this hits hard... Pcad WAS bikeforums in many ways. Chokes me up. I cannot imagine what it's like to lose somebody like that. May his family and friends find the strength to cope with this terrible loss.

Haven't been here much in the last 5 years since I was hit by a car. Back on my bike and this gives me pause.
RIP Pcad.

I missed this post and didn't hear anything about it on FB either. I've been in another world.
I am really, really sorry to hear this! It breaks my heart.
