looking for suggested asking price for vintage Panasonic steel touring bike
I'm parting with my beloved steel touring bike which I have schlepped all over the US and Canada for the past several decades....looking for suggested sale price. Not looking to make a fortune as I have to leave bike behind in West Canada following end of tour. It is a 21 inch (53 cm) w decent fairly new tires (one is a Schwalbe Marathon), very low granny gears, front and rear rack, a new derailleur, new seat and in decent riding condition (I've recently ridden it in Death Valley National Park). Is $300 too much or way to little? Photo attached I am not looking to sell it here, just for ideas on values. I can't ship home for logistic and financial reasons plus it is time! For some reason the site would not let me post a photo but I could e-mail to anyone interested. Again, not looking to sell here.

Depends on location. Yours is missing original fork. Forks don't get misplaced. 99% of the time, they get damaged in a crash. Do wheels match? That would be another sign. There is a complete one in my area, better condition, for $150 .I've resisted so far.
If yours popped up in my market, it would have to be silly cheap. Your market is much better.
Panasonic made a full line of bikes, from very basic to outstanding. I own four of their nicer ones right now. Touring bikes like yours were in the nicer category, but not grail vintage touring bikes. Panasonics tend to get less response, which is good for buyers, bad for sellers. You are in a hot market. $300 hot? Thats pushing it given fork issue.
Want to see a crazy deal? This one is $75.... If I was there, I would be loading it right now.

Man - that looks like my bike!
Correct - not original fork. Original damaged in shipping to start of tour. Wheels never replaced. No major accidents. Thanks for the advice!
