From my place, I ride to the center once in a while. We have public bikes which are very convenient to use, but in the outer parts of the city, they have not added stations, so I must walk about 25 blocks to get to the nearest. Then in most of the major streets there are cycle lanes.
Your bike is robbed but this depends on the part of town and the hour. The only true problem.
