Nice Hook! Bombtrack makes an amazing gravel bike. Haven't seen any others while I've been out, just pics of what's online. It's a shame, if people would look into Bombtrack they'd realize what a bargain for what you get. Plus, you can only see so many Specialized, Cannondale, and Trek sleds running around before you just go...meh, cookie cutter. I get stopped so many times about mine, so hopefully they start to get more recognition in the gravel scene. Here's my 2018 EXT-C. This is by far, the perfect bike. The one bike that can do it all. Not a big fan of the 2021 green one, color just doesn't do any justice.

I was close to building up a bombtrack but couldn't find one anywhere in my size. It would have looked almost exactly like that build^^

BT quality and model choices are excellent. Columbus steel or carbon both are great choices. They also were one of the very few brands to deliver full orders to shops on time this past season! They are under-appreciated IMHO. They are quite rugged, very well equipped, smart embracers of 650B wheel size and have fantastic paint and finish to boot. They also invest in the sport outside of just selling bikes which important to me. We a BT dealer in PA and still have some Hook, Beyond 1 and Hook EXT-C models in stock thankfully to finish out the season.

Perfect use case! Now ditch those reflectors and the pie plate behind the cassette.

I tried to buy a Hook EXT-C frame for 6 months, and never found one in my size. Ended up with a Diverge, and I don't regret the bike I ended up with...but, man, I really wanted one of these.

I haven't replied to this thread in awhile. My blue Bombtrack suffered a failure and the frameset was replaced under warranty. Huge shout out to @campfirecycling for their outstanding customer service. The replacement frameset is black and purple and I couldn't be happier. Time to pick up where I left off and RIDE.

You can't post this without saying what was wrong with the old frame- come on, details!
It didn't even last a month?

Cliff notes. First ride out 20 miles no problems. Second ride, 10 miles in a chain ring bolt failed and wedged under the chainstay resulting in a dent/damage.

Campfire Cycles stood behind the warranty claim 100%. Distributor sources frameset and I'm back riding. Store manager, Toby, went above and beyond to make things happen.

I'm not disillusioned with the brand. Nothing bad to say at all. It was a fluke. Stuff happens. I'm happy to be riding a Bombtrack. I have no doubt this bike will bring me on many adventures and provide lots of smiles.

That is just a really freak incident. It wasn't even caused by a frame issue, so that's good to hear.
It's great to see the shop make it right- and the purple accent is solid!

How about a rim-braked Arise as a urban fixed gear?

Question for those who know; can the Hook EXT take 700c wheels (say as a 2nd set for pavement specific riding)?

Installed an Old Man Mountain rear rack and have a pair of Ortlieb gravel bags for bikepacking when the weather warms.

Do you get any heel interference from those bags?

Great looking bikes. I was looking at the carbon gravel model here... couldn't help but notice it is probably the same frame as the Carbonda 696 (a frame I have been eyeing for a long while to purchase).

Went for a ride today. The wind was howling. Not much fun.
Did not heel strike the Ortlieb bags. Pretty happy about that. All set up for a bike packing adventure soon!

Gravel Rider That the West Desert in Utah?! Favorite place on earth! Here's a pic of my Beyond and me in the San Rafael Swell. Love the geo and the big clearance. Was able to jeep through pretty much everything.
