I already have the parts in my stash and my shop said it won't cost much to swap them as I'm getting new bars at the same time. Should I even bother with the new derailleurs and will I see any improvement? I like the 590 shifters better and thought why not just do them all at the same time.

Thanks for any input.
You probably won't notice much if any difference between one Deore series and another Deore series RD. However, the Deore M590 shifters will definitely make difference over the Acera ones - they will work a bit smoother and less clunky, but the biggest advantage is the two-way relaese (which Acera doesn't have), i.e. for releasing the cable you can choose between pulling the trigger lever with your index finger, and pushing the same lever with your thumb. I have found this option to be very convenient.
