Addiction 2021.3

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Do you have one?

That spacer stack is too much, though, IMO. If I needed that much stack height, I wouldn't look at a frame with such a short head tube.

No, still have the Cervelo R3.

Some Ultegra R8170 would get rid of two of those cables, though.

With all those spacers? They take the photo from that angle because if they took a normal BF one, that BMC would look terrible. I'll take my 2015 BMC with a little cable exposed. I bet the front end is stiffer.

Talking about restaurants. We were staying at the Hampton Inn and walked over to the Chili’s and was told give our name and come back in a half hour. The place was maybe 20% full. We went next door to the IHOP and I needed a shave by the time our food came. Same at another restaurant the day before.

For the record, my wife doesn’t do Mexican food or Chinese or most any ethnic food. She’s picky and almost a vegetarian.

Hard to argue about the stack height on the BMC, but I just quickly pulled a Google image with no wires.

This one actually looks much better:

Anyway you look at it, the clean cockpit is the shiz.

Not all of them - there's on local climb that in my experience is such a terrible descent that it spurs me on to keep going to the top so I can go back down by a different route.

Looks great but high maintenance. I prefer a low maintenance vehicle and spouse.

It was this one, which overall has good reviews, but had bad service on Labour Day 2021.

Not really, unless you're hunting around for proper fit. Once it's all set, though, it's going to be years between monkeying about with any of that stuff, even with mech shifting and cable-actuated brakes, With electronic and hydro? Pffft. Set it and forget it.

I guess so. If it's slammed and low profile, it's not bad. It looks like a normal bike. That Wilier in Hot r Not would still look weird slammed.

HOT! except for the seat post.
still, I wouldn't buy a bike with hidden cockpit cables.

The red and blue one? It looks weird because it's sized for wee folk, IMO. Big folk and wee folk get the short end of the Hot or Not stick.

Like LAJ, I've hoarded too many bike parts to make major changes now. I have a back up Reynolds Ouzo Pro fork. Just in case.

The Wilier HT/stem/bar integration is big. Too chunky.

How do you adjust the stem length and angle?
