Great job I am not usually a fan of repaints but you clearly had no choice with that rust- nicely done. When are the new tires coming? based on the initial pictures I was seeing sidewall threads on the originals ..... Lovely find and refurb.

Honestly I was and may still end up just hanging on my wall. I took it for a rip however and it is quick and shifts like mad. Total smile fest riding it. I am however a bit OCD and after the work I’ve put into it I’d likely not handle damage very well. If I do decide to ride it then new rubber for sure and likely Terra1

I have an old Ritchey that I wanted to know what year and model it could be and a member told me that the bike was just a Plain Old Butt Welded Cromo Frame, so I opened a thread in the vintage with that title.. POBCWF.. Look at my threads and you will find it, there are pics of my Ritchey..

Parked for winter. Thinking of ordering some Rider1 tires for it so it’ll be a bit more road worthy. The MegaBites that are on it now def showing their age and more for display. You guys agree the Terraone are the way to go?

I just mostly finished my '87 Ultra, that I acquired as just a frame a few months ago, I absolutely love it.

I missed this thread the first time around -- great restoration work!
(If you ever decide you want to move those cranks along, let me know -- 177.5mm is my favorite length.)
Here's mine, which I believe is an '89. I bought the frame second hand in '93 or '94 and have had it since then. I like to joke that it's my "flat-bar gravel bike".

Something was off with the bike. I noticed that when I rebuilt the pedals I painted the name plate black. I wasn’t sure how to paint it white. My wife suggested dipping a toothpick in paint and it turned out well not perfect but it wasn’t meant to be.

Improvements
So the kool stops didn’t look right on this bike. I ordered some new XT brake pads front and rear now the XT groupset is complete. I also swapped out the seat post for a black one. The Turbo saddle looks good but to narrow for me to ride on super uncomfortable so it’s just for show. I’m searching for a white turbo, avocet or Ritchey Logic saddle in like new condition. Hopefully in145mm width

Wheel refurb
Well I will finally be able to finish the build. New decals for the wheels came in along with the Logic decals for the seat tube. Will be repainting the wheels. Thanks to Velocals for working with me on getting these produced

Hey, Victor ... you missed a spot.
Back in the summer of 1986, IIRC, I seriously considered an 18" (or 18.5") sized Ultra. Had they had a 16-incher, I might have sprung for one. Didn't know that it had just come out, but respected the Ritchey frames and reputation. Did a test-ride for an hour or so, all over the nearby dirt roads, up the hills and across the small town. Climbed like a mountain goat, was stable, fairly light, and easy to "flick" around. Nice bike. Missed a pre-owned example a handful of years ago, before prices began to really pop.
Yours is turning out really well. Heavily massaged and pampered, perhaps a bit "pimped" even, but it works. Nice job.
