Addiction 2022.1

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Probably not. It's your immune system dealing with the aftermath of the virus. Think of it as a clean-up operation.

My dad did this to his 1977 Silverado crew cab, before our big month-long family trip, BITD. He even built a frame around the fuel cell that he covered in carpet, so us kids could sit on it.

That system that hit the midwest is coming here and dumping a ton of rain on us the next 2 days. Then temps will plummet.

I am hoping there will be enough time for roads to dry before the temps go below freezing. If not, there will be more weekend basement fake miles in my future.

That sounds like a B tension adjustment. Pedal backward and pull the derailleur down a bit and see if the jumping stops.

Por casualidad, the increments are getting bigger by the day, and I expect to ride a bike within the coming week. The key will be getting it past the naysayers who insist it's too soon. There's an itch building, that will need scratching sooner than later. The first one or two will likely be uptown for supplies. Not much to go wrong there.

If I'm by myself, I can push it. If I've got my family in the car, I'm not planning on much more than 10 hours of driving in a day.

So the measurement was one unit.

It’s supposed to be 12 to my mom, but Northern VA traffic can really screw that up

It is turning out that way. The size of the increments during the time the first statement was made, indicated weeks. Those increments have since made quantum(sort of) leaps. But you knew that.

I am in Chester County, which is in a similar weather pattern as Bucks. But Bucks is NORTH of Philadelphia while we are WEST.. The weather patterns and demographics are similar.

I am willing to ride in seasonably cold winter temps (down to maybe 15F) but no effing way I am going to ride with ice risk.

Here's an interesting picture... This is at the Phoenix mile, and we had to do a bit of bodywork bracing because we were going quite a bit faster than expected. The pole position for that race would have started 23rd in the Indy Car race that year.
