Wide tires with lower pressures are slower than thin hard ones. The studies claiming otherwise that came out recently are suspicious to me, I think it's big gravel trying to pervert the sport and sell stuff to roadies. This is similar to the UCI banning the supertuck position, they're trying trying to sell roadies dropper posts. Follow the money.
