I have this problem where, if I go to bed before 11:30 or 12, my body wakes me up 2 hours later convinced that it's had a nice nap and it's time to get up. So last night around 10, I decided to watch a movie. Movies are, like 90 minutes to 2 hours, right? Perfect. So I decided to see what the Zack Snyder Cut of "Justice League" was all about.
It was about 4 hours.
Luckily, I was able to sleep in till almost 9 AM, but I still feel like a matter transporter accident.

50 cold miles. 37 degrees to start with some 20 mph winds, warmed up to 43 by the end.... So glad that's over with!
Now, this is odd. I have 2 identical pairs of bibs from the black bib project. One of them is missing since laundry last week. Seriously, like they escaped. There isn't anywhere for them to hide since all my stuff is in a storage unit. And I remember taking them out of the washing machine and hanging them up to dry. Now?...gone.
I know I did something dumb with them but I won't remember until I come across them, and that could be months from now.

I also had a good ride. All 15 miles of it. I will work my way back into some semblance of shape by late July, when I will be riding the hills of se Ohio. It's 75 miles from Columbus, where I land, to Athens, my destination. I'm considering doing the whole thing in one day. Should be quite doable. Even with the hills. The air will be much cooler there. And I'll have the whole day. Who can't ride 75 miles in a full day?

I rode the Roubaix for the first time in many months today. It really is a sweet ride and in some ways even better than the Habanero. It is running an Ultegra 6700 drivetrain which is getting a little long in the tooth.
Since it has internal cables, I am considering updating it to a Di2 drivetrain, but I need some input from the Di-2 aware.
Since it is set up for 10 speed, I would prefer to get 10 speed Di2 (ie Ultegra 6770) so I can keep the rear wheel and cassettes the same. I know I would need a battery, FD/RD/Shifters/Junction box(es) and wiring. How much sense does it make to get gently used 10 speed gear from ScamBay vs. bite the bullet and get current generation Ultegra 11 speed??
Remember I am on a budget, so cost savings are a big driver of the decision.
Thoughts?

Took a trip with the ex to Engin today to talk to the owner about component choices. Most interesting to someone who doesn’t keep up on the latest technology. She’s going with the SRAM electric 1x12 group. Some brand of hydro disc brakes and i9 wheels.
Frame should be done in a month. Still needs to be welded and anodized orangish. The latter he does not do in-house.

Rode the Ritchey for almost 80 miles today. Was going for 100 but the Lily scare cut it short. It held up well. Other than a stiff neck I felt more comfortable and needed less breaks than with the C2. The down tube clamp start to loosen at the last 5 miles. ( If you remember previously I thought my crank was loose due to a clicking noise when I pedaled. Nope, not the cranks just the frame letting me know it’s needs to be tightened)

I would go new components and yes upgrade to 11. I had the opportunity to upgrade Contador to 11 speed red and I did shortly after I built up the '16 Tarmac. 6 months after that Sram discontinued support for 11 speed etap. Can't even get parts. Now if something fails I screwed. I did save the 10 speed red set up I removed So I still can go back to that if I want. But I will most likely move back to Shimano. And save the 10 speed stuff for the trainer.
Heck if it was mine I might even look at D/A 11 or 12 if it's out yet. No regerts that way.

None of any of this makes sense! We are grown men riding bicycles..... Now that that is out of the way.

I may have solved the Lotus's braking problem. I ordered some Kool Stop 'Dura 2' brake shoes which, disappointingly, don't fit the Lotus's calipers - the bold bottoms out before it's tight. After a brief, frenzied attempt to FORCE it to work, I wisely set it all aside, waiting for cooler heads.
This morning, I realized I have perfectly functional, 15 year old, lightly used Dura Ace shoes on the Ritchey, which might fit the Lotus, while the new Kool Stops might fit the Ritchey. Sure enough, a quick check shows I'm right!
It may not look 'period correct', but I'm willing to sacrifice that for being able to stop when I want to.

I find myself in a pickle.
I got my second Pfizer shot on April 22nd, and one of my underlings just tested positive for COVID-19. He was in the office full day on Wednesday and sits 5-6 feet away from me. I don’t think he’s come closer than that the whole day, and since it’s been 2.5 weeks between my second dose and last Wednesday, I’m not super freaked out, but am concerned at the same time. We sent him home Thursday morning and he hasn’t been to the office since.
datlas , MoAlpha , how many days after the suspected exposure should I go get tested? I’m thinking to get tested Monday afternoon but definitely do not want to go in too early lest I get a false negative.

You can use any shifters. I think I have 8050 on the Focus because I got some screaming deal on some take offs. 125 for the pair. I hade the derailleurs and some wires. I just had to buy the internal battery, charger and junction box.

If my back is better and i go up North, I think we can meet on the Saturday afternoon (3 PM ish) on my way back to the beautiful state of Georgia. Probably the 19th or 26th. Will that work?
