I think I messed up - Are these track rims?
Several years ago I bought some Araya Red tubular rims from someone on CL. It took me another couple or three years to get around to lacing them to some hubs. Then I forgot about them again. I pulled them out the other day and was getting ready to glue things up and the brake track seemed pretty narrow. I looked on Velobase and saw that the 16B came in both road and track variants. It occurred to me that maybe they aren'r road rims, but track rims. Apologies for the rather poor quality images.

They are probably light, from a time before machined brake tracks (other than Martano)
I would not worry, just make sure the brake pads are well adjusted.
You will probably dent them before the pad wear is too far.

Looking at this catalog page, I think what it means is that the same rim is appropriate for road and track use, not that there are two different variations. The picture shows the polished version, but it lists hard anodized as an available color. The 16B Red is listed on the page third from the bottom. The catalogs of Japanese vintage bicycle

Current production is Gold and 1.1mm sidewall. Previously, there was a Red 1.0mm and a Gold 0.9mm. Looks like you have the heavier vintage rim.
A thread from a ways back:

Older Mavic rims were .7mm for the lightweights and 1.0 for the big guys.
