Addiction LXXVIII

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I think the quality of education would suffer if she went that route. If it were another Master’s sure, but dropping 50k a year for online classes doesn’t seem worth it when 1st year sets up her foundation for success.

True, we aren’t exactly in the risk pool either (she’s 43), but we also spent a number of years as smokers when we were younger and I know of a couple people my age who have been put on ventilators that had no underlying conditions.

It’s more a concern if having someone to help if we do get sick.

A Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle lives in PHX apparently. And he just got a new bike!

Yeah, it'll be a wall-mounted strip, about 22" long, 3.5" wide.

That block looks nifty!

It was unavoidable this year, but if students start out online next year, at schools charging that kind of tuition, that's just absurd.

Not necessarily directed at your situation, but I think when major campuses return they're going to have to have a support system for sick students. Don't know how that would work for graduate students, though.

Yeah, I was thinking just Danish Oil, but I might need to adjust - I might need some more tack/friction.

I brought the bar upstairs (the epoxy is set, though not cured) and slapped some knives on it and a couple of knives are sliding - not down and off, but the handle weight is just swinging them away from vertical. It wasn't doing this before and I'm assuming that it's because it's a lot smoother now that it's been hand planed. Also, it's really only happening when a blade is straddling two magnets (I think that they're working against each other to a small extent). But yeah, I don't want that to happen so I don't want anything too slickery.

Cycling Content melding with Knife Content.

This will work on the knife holder, and you can also use it to glue numbers on your jersey.

This sucks. Hard on my mom. They won't let her in because of covid. Her and my sister had to wait in the car for them to call and tell her they were going to admit him.
so now we wait...

We each have one from Harbor Freight. I have my own kitchen because I have a much higher tolerance for mess. When I still drank coffee, said mess was x1000. I couldn't keep the grounds under control. Now that it's not coffee grounds, it's chia seeds.

I went on a very brief test ride this afternoon, to see if I can ride to the clinic tomorrow, with no car available. Smoothness is fine, but not bumps. A walking I will go.

Like I said, I will probably cancel the order when the time comes.
