Moots YBB: Frame, seatpost, stem, handlebars (all Moots), and water bottle cages (King) from Colorado. US products: All of the previous plus bar ends, headset (Chris King), front and rear hub, brakes, brake levers, quick release (all Paul), seatpost clamp (Purely Custom), grips (ESI) and barend caps as well as the stem cap (Kustom Kaps).
Dean: Frame, handle bars with integrated stem, seatpost, and cages are Colorado. US: Again, in addition to the previous, hubs (Phil Wood), rims (Velocity), headset (Chris King), brakes, brake levers, quick release (all Paul), seatpost clamp, headset top cap, bar end caps, and even the cable ferrules (all Purely Custom).
It is cool to ride mostly US bikes.
Additionally, neither one has any Shimano components on it.

I’ve built my two Colorado mountain bikes with as many Colorado parts as possible and with as many American parts as I can.

Oooohhh...a Mert Lawwill ControlTech Leader Fork, as good as an excuse as any to go down the internet black hole to learn about Lawwill. His son is a Shimano Ambassador too I think. Great dude with big design skills to progress mountain biking through the ages.
The guy is a total stud and worth learning about:

I'm in the process of rebuilding my '89 Stumpjumper Comp--I had on a pair of Voodoo Scorcher bars with the original stem (see pics somewhere earlier in this thread), but it set me too high/too far back to have any real precision with steering. Then I lucked across these mid-80s WTB dirt drops in a local bike junk pile (pre-Specialized, so I believe WTB BB1's? Anyone care to chime in?) and figured it was worth trying a 26er monstercross build. Just threaded up new wheels with the original hubs & Velocity's Cliffhanger rims. I figured 'what the hell' and kept the late 80s color scheme alive on the bar tape. This isn't the sort of bike you build to blend in with a crowd.

1998 Trek Y11, repainted in "Estoril Blue", a huge improvement on the original yellow/red combination. I'm waiting on a new set of tyres for pavement, as I'll only be on city streets. I'm also looking for the rear suspension bushing, it's badly worn.
I think I'll name this one the "Street Beast".

Bought back just before COVID hit, and finally got around to tearing it down and rebuilding with new grease and bearings this fall. These pics were taken after my first ride last week. This is one smooth ride

Because you asked so nicely...pics of the rebuilt '89 stumpjumper comp. generally original save the saddle, stem (Nitto MT-10), drop bars (original, mid-80s WTB dirt drops) with necessary accoutrements, and i recently rebuilt the wheels with original xt hubs, Velocity Cliffhanger rims, & Wheelsmith DB14 spokes.

fvernon that looks stupendous!! and, i'm sure it's a blast. i'm wishing a set of those bars will pop up for sale at a time i can afford them. i have black/white splatter gt tequesta that came with a high rise/dirt drop cromo stem with a cable run. perfect for dirt bars. clamp is 25.4, though, so nothing on the current market will fit. RIP midge bar

thook Thanks, and fingers crossed for you! I couldn't afford market prices for these WTB dirt drops either--if I hadn't lucked across these in a junk pile at a local bike yard, this build never would have happened and I'd still be using this particular bike like a beach cruiser. Replacing the original stem w/cable run was a bummer, but too long/not enough rise to get the bars right (and I'm not about to wait around for a Salsa P10 to fall into my lap!)
and, thank you! hope your fingers don't cramp easy. it could be a good wait for the bars....lol. they don't show up very often, and they tend to be unreasonably priced, imho
a P10? yeah, you'd sooner find a unicorn on craigslist
enjoy your rides

While I've been stuck quarantined down in Florida with my family for the holidays I had been hoping to find a older ride that wasn't way over priced (I live in NYC ha). Got lucky with this Univega for $60. I think it's '95ish? Added new tires and pedals and will be upgrading to some v-brakes once I can get near my tools. We'll see how long this saddle lasts for me too!

I think you are off by about 8 years. By 95 most mountain bikes were sporting steeper angles and shorter chainstays.
