R7000 new RD

Does the Shimano R7000 and r8000 rear derailleurs come with the rear housing loop? It appears they do but it is not mentioned in the contents only picture of derailleur.

I have not seen that (not that we replace many derailleurs with new ones).

But..... how would they know where your housing stop is on the chainstay to give you the right length?

I think I got some 6800 shifters that came with a cable kit. But, I don't believe the derailleurs did.

When I've bought Shimano shifters as a left right set, they come with all the necessary cables and housings to go to the respective DR and all sorts of cable ends and ferrules to fit most any bike setup.

I can't say if the individual shifter includes the cables and housings. Never have any of the DR's I've bought included cables.

Most online vendors have a phone number for sales. Call them and ask.

I've been wondering about this, too. Here is a description from Excel for a special r7000, etc. rear derailleur loop that they sell. Sounds like there is such an animal.

The one I bought to replace a short cage had the loop in the box... Not sure if they still come with one now. I got mine when R7000 was new

It is a fairly long piece and the instructions say to trim to the correct length.

Ah yes, the new rr derailleurs could come with it, it's different...like 4mm brake housing.

It's different than OT-SP41. It's OT-SP900, and like I said previously it's basically 4mm brake housing.

i would think you wouldn't want the compression in that loop but maybe it is short enough to not make a difference. I've also run full length housing to the RD like some others

There's less tension on it than a brake cable. It makes the sharper bends needed for the new derailleurs easier. I'm also quite sure the legions of highly experienced, pocket protector sporting Shimano engineers know what they're doing.
