FS Question Who is the Member

Who is the BF Member who recovered Brooks type saddle's. I know that when he had a number of them ready he would always post them here.

Last fall, the leather on my 50 year old Brooks Professional failed, so I had Rudi replace the leather. It came out quite nicely, only a couple hundred miles on it so far, so we're still breaking each other in, but I predict i will end up just as comfortable as my other Professionals. Here's RHM #230:

Here’s one he did for me on a Brooks Pro frame. I wanted a white saddle with large copper rivets. I asked him to emboss the arcs in the saddle for some detail. I haven’t ridden it yet. I’m in the accumulation phase, collecting parts for multiple vintage builds when I retire in 2 yrs or so. He gave me the leftover white acrylic leather paint for touch ups.

I had not seen that variation of Rudi's stamp before: it's an ancient Greek motif of Taras (Taras was the son of Poseidon, god of the sea) who is usually shown as here, riding the back of a dolphin.

He sometimes has a trident in one hand and a cup in the other, but variations have him holding a cornucopia or a shield.

This motif survives in many sliver coins that were minted all over the Greek empire and so popular in one colony (in what is now Calabria, Italy) that this city-state was named for Taras (it morphed into Tarentum then "Taranto").

So thanks to Rudi for both the history lesson as well as his great saddle craftsmanship!
