Road accident - Market Value F. Moser Giro
To the cordial attention of all members of this bike forum.
I am contacting you due to a road accident where I was involved with my legendary vintage road bike Francesco Moser giro and is currently damaged.
For insurance matters, I need to have a price value so I'm contact you to ask what could be the market value.
Best regards
Maurizio

I don't know the value, but my experience is that valuing each part (including the frame) will get you a bigger check from your insurance company. Also, if they're recalcitrant, a letter to your state's insurance commission may get you a bigger check, quicker.
Yikes - I forgot to ask how you are. I hope you came out undamaged.

The OP is located in Italy. I don't have a clue to values over there.

A quality road bike, yes. Legendary, maybe not. The devil is in the details.
My 2 cents. 2 thousand could be fair depending on pre-accident condition.
Is this more appropriate in the Appraisals thread?

Valuation by an internet forum based on two low res photos is not likely to be accurate or definitive when it comes to an insurance claim. I'd suggest taking the bike's remains and any good photos of it prior to the accident to a good shop in your area that knows the value of bikes like this and get a detailed written valuation/assessment from them -- much morel likely to be both accurate for your region and accepted as correct by the insurance company. Good luck!
