Somewhere I have a photo of Snafu's Hammerhead, Nigel's Moulton and my Mezzo parked up round the back of the Houses of Parliament, a study in blue, must dig it out and post it here. What a fabulous bike the Hammerhead was, light as a feather and soooo fast.

There's a few pics here of the early Hammerheads. I fitted flat bars instead of the aero 'goat-horns' on the original which made it a better city bike.
Lovely bike, but a bit highly strung for the potholes of London town. Oddly, I sold it to a guy who wanted it for, er, commuting in London.
The 2006 Hammerheads came with flat bars in Tango Orange, or the aero bars, in silver. Some guys on here formed Team Smug-Head, after snagging remaindered bargains for £250, me included.

prior to 2008, the 1st gen. HH was one piece with front suspension. starting 2008 it became separable and rigid.
something that apparently has not changed in these bikes, name differences notwithstanding, is the frame geometry. the HH geometry looks just like today's Dash.

Having seen the Brunos with own eyes I can tell you the geometry is sub-optimal because it has a very low bottom bracket height due to a nearly horizontal chain-stay. The Dahons have a better geometry in this respect.

Hi All,
Glad to have found this forum. Some of your bikes are mouth watering! I love the styling of the Dash P18 and the ride feel. To date I have owned a Raleigh Twenty, Dahon MU Uno, Brompton M6L, a Dahon Speed TR and now I have my latest Dahon again! I had been looking for one for a long time and now I finally have one! Well, I bought it used and it is a Smooth Hound 16 speed. I hated the handlebars, shifters and brake levers so upgraded (or some would say downgraded) to a flatbar from a Giant Bowery single speed, new Shimano Claris 16sp gear shifters and brake levers, and got new brake and shifter cables as well as some Ergon grips. I also put on my fav Prologo saddle. Cables are a bit too long at the moment and I'll have to sort that out sometime. So essentially I have created a Dash P16!!
Let me know what you all think....

Also, I am curious about the tire size. What size are they and how do you find them if you were riding on gravel exactly like the ones shown in your photo. (ie. do they sink into such gravel, especially when loose ? )

Is it a specific model of Dahon Dash to have V-brake mounts?
I recall the ones I saw in the local showroom were for caliper brakes.
Also, I am curious about the tire size. What size are they and how do you find them if you were riding on gravel exactly like the ones shown in your photo. (ie. do they sink into such gravel, especially when loose ? )

tyres are 47-406 and i ride on gravel and mud 25/30mm deep) and its fine; i could overtake MTB on a gravel trail despite the extra load, a kid in the child seat.
Those kenda are similar to panaracer comet that comes with many gravel bike in 38-622.
If you want a more offroad tyre, schwalbe black jack will be better. My daughter comes with me on easy MTB trail on her 20” with them

To answer your question, the ones without v-brake mounts that use road caliper brakes are the Dahon Dash Altena. The Dahon Dash has v-brake mounts and comes with 406 wheels. The Dahon Dash Altena has no v-brake mounts and comes with 451 wheels. It is the latter which you will have seen in SG. I should know for I bought an Altena in SG several years ago.

I was able to find this. I plan on rebuilding it this summer. The previous owners painted the frame flat black with a paint brush
