I saw this bike on CL; how would you rate it for racing? Is that going to be a big limitation for other uses, biking around town or doing pleasure cycling?

I wouldn’t call that a triathlon bike…not by today’s standards. The geometry is wrong; it’s not aero; most tri bikes don’t have the granny gear, and it’s just a large frame to begin with (which is fine if that’s the size you require). I mean you there’s nothing saying that you can’t ride it in a tri…but how serious do you want to be WRT racing? As far as the other uses you mentioned…”biking around town or doing pleasure cycling”…that’s really up to you if you’re OK with using a road bike for those things.
