No dogs here.
But, if I ever lose my cat, the first place to look is right in the middle of MY chair.
Of course, I can just scoop her up and move her aside. But, cats and dogs have this odd dominance pattern.

In the most optimistic scenario I am that. More likely is that they're bored because mrs non-fixie is abroad all week, and when I get home they finally have something to play with besides each other.

How did she end up at the Humane Society?
I went ahead and got Latte chipped when I took her in for spaying. It wasn't too expensive, then they hit me up for an additional $80, without really saying why I had to pay all that extra. So, she just got the basic chipping.

This is Princess about 14 years old now. She is the sole survivor of 3 sisters we rescued from my wife's work parking lot. We lost Maya and Mirna to kidney failure over the last couple of years, but Princess is still hanging in there.

We lost two last fall, Zeus and General Lee . Zeus from old age issues and Lee from CDK. Both were very dear to us.
There is never a replacement but we did acquire a kitten recently. Since we live in the South and surrounded by both American Revolution and War between the states history, we named him Shelby after Shelby Foote most have seen in Ken Burns Civil War series. We enjoyed his southern drawl in the series.
As I mentioned several pages ago, my wife has been involved in cat rescue for several years. She can't participate as much but continues to have connections. This guy was in a colony of about 70 cats. There are people who believe in TNR (trap, neuter, release) as opposed to the Australian method of open season on cats, to control the feral cat population. If you capture a kitten while it still makes meows or sounds, it is very easy to domesticate them. Past that point and you will rarely see them and never hear them unless they are in a fight.
Shelby is very affectionate but is easily distracted with the opportunity to play. He has all the markings of the Links Point Siamese.
Not a great quality pictures but....
