SRAM 11spd 32t Cassette
Hi,
I was looking at the SRAM 1190 cassette 11-32t and noticed it says that 32 and 34 tooth versions are compatibile only with wifli and 1x derailleurs. I have a Shimano Ultegra RD. Would they just not work together?
Thanks!
Jon

It should be fine with an Ultegra RD.
I run a SRAM PG 1170 11-32 with Shimano GRX 810 RD and it works fine. I think the XG-1190 is just a fancier/lighter/more expensive version of that.

You haven't told us which Ultegra derailleur you have...and that makes a difference. Which model? SRAM is only going to say which SRAM derailleurs the cassette will work with, they won't ever mention Shimano in their details/spec.

I have not actually bought it yet. I have Dura Ace 9001 shifters and was looking at the R8000 RD.

I suppose what matters in this case is the gear capacity of the RD you're using. 11-32 is 21 teeth. But if it's on a 34-50 double, you'll need 16T more take-up for 37 teeth total.

That is my thought. I thought sram built to shimano specs, but wasn't sure if things had changed.

I think 36T would be pushing the limit as the RD is rated for a 32T max.
