The local greenway has been great for wildlife last few years since i started riding it. Highlights being 2 coyotes on a horse path that runs parallel, sadly no picture as i wasnt stopping w/ them 20 feet away to dig in my bag for my phone lol. Unfortunately by the time i doubled back they were gone. I did however get a great vid of 2 milk snakes fighting on the side of the greenway. One of the wildest things ive ever seen, looked like a ball of snakes.

I've found lots of good stuff over the years, mostly tools. Two days ago I found a very new, sharp pair of kitchen scissors. I've found socket extensions, sockets, pump pliers, screw drivers, a brand new set of work gloves still fastened together with the little plastic thingey.

I watch OTA tv using an antenna and we'd just bought a new antenna. On one ride, I found a coil of aluminum grounding wire, enough to do the job. It was the beginning of my ride, so I went to the back of an adjacent cemetery, stuck it behind a gravestone, and picked it up on the way home. 😆

I've also found a few small bills, and an 8" nail. Didn't run over it! Once, a bunch of ID and credit cards.

Yesterday I found the blue North Face hat and while cleaning it I thought of some of the other stuff I’d found in recent memory. I think this was all in 2022. The North Face hat was very dirty so its been washed a few times and then de-fuzzed. I added the NASA sticker to the RTIC cup. The pink thing is a water bottle boot and works great on my Yeti with a dented bottom since it otherwise doesn’t sit perfectly flat. The wrench is a craftsman and the pliers say “IBC Germany” and “Ibetum”. The scissors were found in the woods while mounting biking. The DeWalt set was in a precarious spot on the side of a bridge with no shoulder. The two halves were separated and about 15 feet apart but not broken.

In addition not pictured that I found in the last year and a half or so is a medium sized igloo and ice chest and large Buccees insulated cooler bag I found on the creek trails behind a neighborhood. They were obviously left behind by kids who’d had a bit of a campfire/party because there was beer cans, clothes, and nitro cartridges. After seeing it two weeks in a row I came back with my truck picked up all the trash and kept the coolers.

Also not pictured is a hard plastic ice pack shaped to fit between a six-pack, a couple of ratcheting straps and a not-that-old gaming computer and monitor I got off the curb. I pulled some of the parts from it on my ride (was commuting so I had a trunk/pannier) then came back in my car and got the rest later.

Last ride I picked up an almost new wallet with only a driver's license and credit card. Address was not much out of my way so rode there to return it. Short street in a nice neighborhood, off the beaten track. The house was broken into two nights before, the wallet, other items, and a car stolen. The car was found undamaged. They were pleased to get the wallet back.

found a cricket phone in the middle of the road. I thought it had been run over but then stopped and checked and nope. wasted my time going to a cricket store they could not help. so I put it on the charger as it was at 4% waiting for a call. the owner shoed up at our house at 10:30 calling it. so woke us up. I guess no good deed goes unpunished.
it was on the charger for 6 house and only got to 87%

^^ I found a credit card once. Picked it up and no sooner started to ride and saw another. Then another. Eventually after many credit cards and other wallety items, I came across the wallet. I was near the Police Station so I stopped to turn it in. They treated me with suspicion, like I was the one who stole it. I told them they could go back to the scene and see receipts on the edge of the woods cuz I did not bother to pick them up. They eventually cooled off. But jeez, talk about no good deed unpunished. I was upset.

This morning I saw in the gutter a tangle of blue/white string. More than string really, not quite rope. Cord? Anyways, two strands emerged from the tangle and headed up the hill. They continued all the way to the top of the hill and over some until one strand terminated in a ragged end. The other strand continued down the hill, and to my delight, took a right turn onto the I-15 on-ramp.

have no idea how far it keeps going, maybe it wants to try its luck in Vegas!

I've found bullets and brought them to police stations twice. First time I was thanked. Next time it was more like the Inquisition. They wanted all kinds of information on me. I finally just walked out, figured they could arrest me and then try to convince a judge I was something other than a good citizen. (They didn't. But lesson learned. Police stations are not a good place to dispose of bullets found in parking lots.)
