Adaptive Cycling: Handcycles, Amputee Adaptation, Visual Impairment, and Other Needs Have a need for adaptive equipment to ride to compensate for a disability or loss of limb or function? This area is for discussion among those of us in the cycling world that are coming back from traumatic circumstances and tell the world, "No, you are not going to beat me down!"

A wheel is locked up with so much less force than could ever be applied by the human hand even with a lever so, it's hard to imagine it happening except perhaps due to years of corrosion on a neglected bike left outdoors.

You could learn how to use your foot on the back wheel to stop the bike, I saw it in a video and trained pretty hard to be able to do it. It looks pretty ridiculous, but it saved me not long ago when I had a brake failure on a descent. If you are skilled enough you can lock up the back wheel with your foot. mob4954kr9371.jpg (1242×1485) (redd.it)

It shredded a Rubino Pro to the casing.
what he said. its an obnoxious and kind of stupid skill, but it might come it handy
