I’m brand new to Bike Forums. Actually this is my 2nd time around. I never got around to making 10 posts the first time, so I never got to contribute anything-pictures, etc.

I’ve been a member of both the Seattle International Randonneurs and Randonneurs USA for several years, but I still haven’t managed to participate in any events.

The more I read about Randonneuring in the pages of Bicycle Quarterly the more interested I became.

I hope to ride a Permanent of approximately 65 miles or so this fall. I’m building a 65cm/25.5” Trek 620 modified by Mark Guglielmana of Portland (I’m pretty sure he’s a Forum member here) and I will post pictures of it here in the future.

Welcome Jacob! I'm down here south of Portland, in Salem. Yup, Mark (a.k.a. gugie) is definitely a member here, in good standing. Hopefully we can ride together someday; we all tend to get together every now and again for a good ride.

I would be real interested in seeing your bike after you get it built up, as I'm sure would others.

My Modified Trek

Hello, I’m about to send the frame out for a single color powder coat.

I’m trying to match a specific color, 2018 Toyota RAV4 Electric Storm Blue.

When I finish it, my Trek 620 will have polished Velo-Orange fenders, so I think this color will be quite attractive.

The modifications by Mark Guglielmana include René Herse braze-ons for direct mount Mafac brakes and direct mounted fenders. I have high hopes for this bike!

Thanks!

Jacob
