Plug it in and you'll have the beginnings of your answer.

You aren't going to hurt it electrically with standard USB voltages. It might work or it might go into data transfer mode or it might not do anything. I'm still not certain if the USB on your device was intended to power it up for use. But it should not hurt it to try.

The usb cable you use might make a difference. Many older Garmin device used a resister on one of the pins to help it decide what it was connected to so it could go into the proper mode, charging, data transfer or operational. I'm not sure if they still do, but now most Garmin's can do all three at the same time or at least two of those things at the same time.

When I use the GPS on the ATV with the 12v power plug, when I shut off the ATV,
here is a blip that asks if I want to use battery power, so I know about that end.

One of these days the WH will get here.....I hope.

Well Guys,
I am the new owner of a Wart Hog MD750 eBike,
I had a Dr's appt, (I wasn't waiting till the 15th to have it delivered), so I went and picked it up, all I can say is "What a beast, I had a blast for the 30 minuets I road it up and down the 300+ yds of the driveway.
I'll have to watch those hydraulic brakes as they do lock up tight, compared to the old "V" brakes that's on the 21 speed Schwinn I used to ride. I now have 4.2 miles on it"......LOL

The controller does have a USB plug hole, still waiting for the USB cable w/mini plug to get here.

I sure don't like the "walk assist" feature, as I have to go into jogging speed, NOT good for the hip.
I'll have to figure out how to slow it down, somehow. I am setting it up for my spec's to ride with etc.
I have ordered all the extra's for it also, back to reading and riding............... LOL

Hey Guys
I just received the USB cord with the mini plug,
I plugged the USB cable into the Garmin 60CSx GPS, and the controller on the Wart Hog MD 750 and it all works perfectly, powers on with or without batteries.

Now waiting for another Garmin power cord and then I can make the magnetic base plate,
or the external antenna. I am tickled Pink.

too cold to ride without hand warmers.........I am a woozse.........LOL

Well guys
I thought I had better update,
I have about 75 miles on the Wart Hog and the Garmin has been working perfectly,
checked the mileage and speed of the WH display and found out the speed difference,
is about 2.3 miles, faster than/from the Garmin 60 readings.

So the next thing is to change the WH spec's to match as close as possible to the Garmin,
which I know is very accurate, having checked it against Radar and mileage distance checks,
from our Hiways etc.

Brought the bike inside as it was getting cold outside,
and found out that one of my batteries is bad, the display read 30%.
Pulled the bottom battery and had a reading of 46.6V via a voltmeter,
pulled the top battery and had a reading 331.3V ??
tested several times via voltmeter, with this 21700 cell type battery pack.

Put the top battery in the bottom slot and got a "O" zero, "NO" readings from the display,
and the little push lite did not show any color, pulled the top battery out.
Put in the bottom battery, top & bottom slots, and got a reading on the display of 31.8Volts,
and the push lite lights up to the Blue color, in either slot.

So, it appears that the top battery is history..............I contacted Bikonit
(maker of the Wart Hog) and explained everything that I had found out with the top battery,
and they are having me, send it out to be replaced in Calif, their $$,
once they send me the special boxes to mail it out with?.

So, I am down to 1 battery, so far ever thing works OK,
Really a bummer, only 75 total miles on my new ride.
I want out for riding, but the weather has turned bitter cold, 30mph winds from the North etc.
So here I sit watching the clouds race by.

Are you sure your voltmeter was in DC mode and not AC mode? I get some crazy high readings on mine when I get it mixed up.

1000 % positive it was in DC volts,
used the same method to check the good battery an got good, 46.6V readings etc.

I still don't know what to make of that ODD reading...........

Bikonit did tell me to NOT USE or Charge that battery etc.
