Price Check on a 2002 Lemond Alpe D'Huez

Seems like a pretty solid bike but the guy wants $420 for it. Seems like he's been smoking 420. What's a fair price to pay? Reading about them, they seem like a pretty solid commuter although I like to be more upright so maybe it wouldn't work.

really good shape... good frame. I'd buy it.
Bike looks like it's never been riden.

You'd buy it for $420?

Offer $300 and go from there. Those are nice frames!

$420 is not unreasonable for what looks like a very nice condition bike. Certainly not a "must be smoking something" price. Sounds like it doesn't fit what you want, but if it does make an offer. $300 or $350 is an ok starting spot. Although, if I had the bike listed at $420 and someone emailed offering $300 I might not even respond. In person, it would start a conversation though.

If it’s as nice in person as it appears in the picture, that’s not a terrible price. Reynolds 853, 105 triple ten speed, Cane Creek headset, solid Trek build.

Wander around the web and see what a new or used bike with an 853 frame, 525 stays, carbon fork, and 105 groupset goes for..and then reconsider the $420 price. It'll look like a pretty good bargain.

If you still think someone is smoking something, this bike isn't for you.

I wouldn’t agree to a lowball price if you emailed me with it but I might if you showed up to see the bike and had cash in your hand.

^^^^^^ Right....never haggle the price on phone or PM, it's a formula for a no response as well as the opportunity for the seller to say to other buyers, I have already been offered etc. etc..350-375 seems like a reasonable number to me.
