I applied for my half fare metro card today...
Hit my 65th on Monday so I went down to the MTA customer service office to get a half-price card. I felt like I was half the age of everyone else there. Cycling keeps you young!

Sure is a great feeling when people think you're younger, isn't it! Cycling does indeed keep us young. Keep on rolling on!

I applied for the "VETERAN" stamp on my driver's license yesterday... I didn't think I wanted it but it's apparently the trigger for all kinds of benefits and discounts.

I use the half fare senior option on NJ Transit all the time, I keep waiting for somebody to verify my age!

I did my first ride just now since my bday 3 days ago. My average HR was 166bpm and my average power was 178 watts over 39 minutes. Not too shabby. I'm still working to get that FTP up over 200.

I try to remember to ask for the Senior Discount everywhere I go. It's kind of amazing how many places will offer you a free beverage with your meal.

I use the transit system frequently enough that the tap on card is worth while. I went in to have senior status applied to my card the day I qualified, and the savings have been substantial.
besides that, on Mondays, seniors can ride the bus free without tapping on. Never been asked for verification, so I guess I can't delude myself about looking younger than I am.
