My bicycle sounds like a goose honking
Lately my bike is making a honking noise when I pedal. It doesn't honk all the time but when it starts it doesn't stop for a few minutes. It honks all of a sudden whether I'm coasting, going uphill, or merely pedalling.
I've greased my seatpost in case that was the problem. I've checked the front fender in case a loose bolt was causing the fender strut to vibrate madly.
Any ideas? If it's a minor adjustment I can do it myself, but anything past "I have an allen key, grease, and lube" I'll take my bike to the shop. But it would be nice to have a clue about what's causing my bike to sound like a goose in heat
Thanks!

I had the same problem. It turned out that the brake cable was rubbing against the side of the tire.

@cyclokitty has been active on BF as recently as this year -- did it get resolved?

lol, yes. It was resolved. If I recall, my wheel needed truing because the brake pad was rubbing. Then, a few years later my bike had a complete overhaul at the bike shop. They did a great job.
