WTB: Vintage Frameset 53-55cm
Hey everyone -
Looking for a vintage frame to build up with modern components. Kinda want a backup bike that is somewhere between my carbon one and my vintage Allez which I don't like riding hard because A. it's beautiful and I don't want to risk crashing it and B. 6 speed freewheel sucks on the hills I like to ride. Ideally something I could also let a friend borrow if they want to ride with me.
If someone has a project they haven't gotten to or is just laying around, that's what I'm interested in. Doesn't have to be something super nice / rare as I'm not going to keep it original with period-correct parts. Ideally something American, Japanese, or European. Lugged frame AND fork a bonus.
I'm located in the Bay Area, CA so pick up is preferred, but I'll pay for shipping if its reasonable.
LMK what you guys got.

Hey there,
I have a Raliegh Record Ace 55cm, Reynold 520 tubing. I rode it for a year, but it was a little big for me and has just been in my garage for a few year as I just never got around to trying to sell it. If you would be interested, I will sell it to you for $50 + shipping cost. Here are some pics.

If you have not found a frame yet I have a 56cm Behringer. If you google Cecil Behringer you will read some really cool stories about this guy! It is steel, I am guessing Columbus, but we could dig a little deeper and find out if he had a preferred steel. I base my guess on it having Campy dropouts and a Cinelli bottom bracket. A frame builder using these back in the early 80's would *probably* choose Columbus.... I just had it
soda blasted, so it is clean and ready for paint!!

Here is a Tommasini for sale in Kansas for a great price, been up for awhile, might be able to get it for cheaper. I was going to get this one for my wife but found one here in Denver. https://kansascity.craigslist.org/bi...301979767.html
