+1 for letting your clothes either air dry before you load them, or, rinse them in cold water and wring them out a couple of times before they go into the washer. All that wet sweat going in the washer...your clothes are bathing in it.
+1 to both the above. If possible, also try hanging your clothes outside in sunshine to dry. Fresh air and sunshine works well on most bike clothes, but gloves are too thick. I've been known to rub that handful of Borax into my gloves; it either works fairly well or the placebo effect makes me feel better about them.

I established a system - ride clothes are hung on hangers to dry overnight, then they hang in the closet to the right of a specially designated hanger (so I know which bibs I already wore), and then after Sunday's ride, I wash everything. I never wear bibs or socks twice without washing in between.

I hang them to dry and never have an issue.

I also wash them after a ride when I can.

Don`t use a dryer to dry them.

Hang them outside in direct sunlight.

I wonder if during hard exercise we excrete more toxins?

Cheers

something else that goes in our bodies & then comes out are supplements & vitamins. I stopped taking a B complex vitamin mix due to how it makes me smell. I still occasionally take small amounts B6 & B12 that do not have that effect

I also use Persil and Downy Unstoppables. A lot of people claim that you shouldn't use things like that on technical fabrics and cycling gear because it is supposed to negatively impact the fabric's ability to wick away sweat but I haven't noticed an issue.

I also used to run with a group of youth training for half marathons. I washed their reflective vests the same way and the kids loved the smell.
