thank you, no I wouldn't say heavy but I'm the type that doesn't mind stuff on his head. it looks much worse than it feels. & it's a really good fitting helmet. nice surround feeling w/ good easy adjustments. plus my nite rides aren't really more than an hour or an hour & a half. I can tolerate almost anything for that short a time
plus, this year I really pushed it to get some night rides off pavement, where I would use such a setup. still wasn't more than 10 of those this year

got the black strap for the light mount & moved it back an inch, some black zip ties, & glued up a smaller front bracket mount, so I tried it all out again. the cam is a little closer to the helmet & I don't see a shadow from the camera body anymore
again, this setup, is only for night rides, alone, in the forest

simple mount, easy on, easy off, nothing permanent. matched the angle of the adjustable one

took it for a short walk. angle of view is lined up w/ the lite OK

since the MTB is still in the shop, pulled the FX out of the basement. loaded up 2 lite heads on the bars & took the latest version of the nite explorer helmet for a ride around the block. lite on top, cam on front works pretty good

fyi - with a front of helmet mount, you pick up more breathing sounds. w/ the cam on top, you get a little more distance from the oral venting. you can hear whispering but not so much breathing. up front, you hear the breathing. gotta watch that

ran the Nanos a little softer today

with the latest severe gout flare up abating, thanks to lots of steroids, I strapped on some larger shoes & tried to get the blood flow going

nice easy recovery ride. bikes are good for so many things
9.8 miles
18.9 max
9.8 avrg
1hr in the saddle
got the ride down to under 5 minutes. I like the camera mounted on the front of the helmet. switched back & forth from the bars & the helmet & of course the camera stick

got the MTB from the shop. less expensive that I was expecting. rides great. put on the summer tires & was so eager to take it in the forest, that I rushed to decide no lights would be necessary. of course I was wrong. made it around my 5 mile loop OK but lights would have been very helpful! kept the cleated pedals on & tried the cleated shoes on the MTB for the first time. interesting. it's like using flat pedals w/o any movement. duh

5.97 miles
19.2 mph max
8.1 mph avrg
44 min in the saddle

went back to Myles Standish today. gorgeous summer day! loved the heat & the aromas of summer. time for sunscreen & electrolytes
1st section was the loop around the lake
70 degrees
4.21 miles
21.9 mph max
6.2 avrg
41 minutes in the saddle
2nd section was a loop East & North then South
all done at 70 degrees but it felt much hotter
16.88 miles total for the day
22.7 mph max
7.6 avrg
2hrs 12 min. in the saddle
going fast on a twisty paved trail, w/ under-inflated MTB tires, was both dicey & entertaining

some of the trails are quite old but others appear to be almost brand new

the 2 raised boardwalks were much safer w/o snow & ice on them

walked up this one

wonder what lectures have been given here

went down to the river. 81 degrees, sunny, no wind
sandal weather
5.3 miles
20mph max
8.5 avrg
37 minutes in the saddle
I'll be on my feet for 4 hrs tomorrow working in the heat, so not worried about an easy ride. had some company anyway. really shud start working w/ 60fps instead of 30

evening sun

one bike computer is definitely off, or the wheel factor is super wrong. must investigate further. door to door Bedford Depot to the Blue Bike Station at Spy Pond is 9.1 miles not 7.59 miles & round trip is at least 18.2 miles, certainly not 14.6 miles

last week, biked to "Jaws Bridge" on a cloudy day & brought kite-cam along to see if I could capture ppl jumping. kind of a challenge but did have a lot of fun. even got a wave (I think) from a cpl jumpers. not brave enough to use the GoPro so kite cam still uses my older sport cam

had a surprise invitation for a cpl nites in Wellfleet. of course I brought a bike
would love to rent this house myself

seeing the ocean from the driveway is ridiculous. the short walk to the ocean is surreal

no problems sharing the summer roads

hit the sand roads & trails to a favorite pond

shorter ride than I expected but just right for the day

I guess maybe that house would be a good rental too, hehe
